Taqueria Tacos - Carne Asada steak tacos

 

This is a classic carne asada, served in soft corn or flour tortillas. 

Step 1

1. Place a 3 lb flank steak in a large glass baking dish. 

2.  In a separate bowl, whisk together 

     1/4 cup vinegar

     4 cloves garlic, minced

    juice of 2 limes

    1/4 cup olive oil

    1 tsp salt

    2tbsp Mas Sabor spice mix, or a good Sazon seasoning mix

3. Pour the marinade over the steak, turning once to coat both sides. Cover with plastic wrap, and marinate for 1 to 8 hours in the refrigerator

Step 2

4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.  Cut the marinated flank steak diagonally into thin strips. Cook, stirring constantly, until the meat is cooked through and most of the liquid has evaporated.  You can also grill on the bbq or use a cast iron grill pan on the stove.

Serve on soft corn tortillas, with chopped fresh onions and cilantro.  Grilled peppers are a great addition.
